Tour Coffee Farm
Brazil’s coffee is one of South America’s best culinary secrets. If you want to know the coffee chain and the best artisan producers in Rio de Janeiro, this tour is for you. From morning to afternoon, you will get to know the most emblematic places where coffee is breathed and lived like nowhere else.
Please note that this is a full day trip. We will travel with a private guide in our comfortable and exclusive transportation through the 2 most beautiful coffee farms of Rio de Janeiro. Although all of them have been restored, they preserve that ancient touch that will take you back to several centuries ago, in the Brazilian colonial era.
First we will go to the São Luiz da Boa Sorte Farm, founded in 1835. In those years it became a coffee producing power in the whole region. After we will visit Coffee Museum, we will learn what the coffee valley was like then, we will talk about the black slave trade and the colonial lifestyle.
Afterward, we will have lunch at the Mara Palace Hotel, a historic site that hosted hundreds of stars and has several restaurants. There you will be able to taste the best regional and international food in its luxurious old rooms. Also, you will enjoy an incredible setting that combines the architectural beauty of the colony with the most innovative table services.
We will spend the afternoon in the Fazenda Cachoeira Grande. This old open-air museum is the right balance between the local landscape and the colonial houses. Entering there is like returning to the past: wood-burning stoves, ceramic and clay ornaments, hand-woven carpets, and even a gallery of luxurious cars of the time.
