Step 1: Dream
Start here, with your eyes closed if you like. Picture the stunning views from Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain. A sunset at Arpoador, with the crowd applauding as the sun disappears behind the mountains. The romantic little tram climbing into Santa Teresa. Or falling in love with the green of the Tijuca Forest and the Botanical Garden.
Maybe your dream is food. Maybe it’s street art, or the Afro-Brazilian history of Little Africa, or a romantic Rio just for the two of you. There’s no wrong answer at this stage — that’s the whole point.
Step 2: Define
Now the practical part. Set your dates — and here’s my first honest tip as a local: avoid national holidays and high season if you can. Prices go up, lines get longer, and the city gets packed. Then choose your hotel (we’re happy to advise on neighborhoods — it matters more than people think), and reserve your private tour with us. Popular dates fill up, so booking in advance is the smart move.
Step 3: Design
This is my favorite part — sitting down (or exchanging messages) and drawing your itinerary together. Want to know the coastal towns? Niterói and Angra dos Reis are excellent options. Want history? Let’s go to Petrópolis, the imperial city in the mountains. Prefer to keep everything inside Rio? We’ll balance the icons with the corners only locals know.
You can start from one of our ready itineraries and bend it to your taste, or design your own tour from scratch — pickup time, pace, lunch style, everything. And nothing is locked: on the day itself, if something catches your eye, we adjust on the spot.
Step 4: Do!
