Lapa and Metropolitan Cathedral: Architectural Marvels of Rio’s Historic Heart

After lunch, you will meet back up with Fabio so he can take you to the infamous neighborhood of Lapa. This neighborhood is where bohemian carioca was created, and you will want to return later in the evening if you can because it has the best nightlife in the entire city.

Before leaving this part of Rio, you will be escorted to the Impressive Metropolitan Cathedral, constructed between 1964 and 1979. Three popes have spent time in this church over the years, and it is now considered one of the most important churches in the city.
